Love this place, they have a surprisingly extensive menu and the food is great. And itβs quick, like the food comes out crazy fast. Itβs a tough neighborhood sometimes but the folks here are kind to everyone and thereβs a warm vibe. Prices are reasonable as well. Thank you!!!!!

They sell stale donuts, I've had donuts bought days ago and they were no where near as firm as the one I ate the day after buying them. It just looks like they continue selling unsold donuts days after instead of replacing them with fresh batch like other shops do

Gateway Croissant is one of those rare spots that quietly becomes part of your life. Tucked within a short walk of the City, State, and Federal buildings and a short walk from BART. Itβs the perfect stop for anyone commuting into Civic Center. For the last two years, any day Iβm heading into the City, I have to swing by for a cruller or an apple fritter. At this point, itβs a ritual. What keeps me coming back isnβt just the pastries (though the cruller is dangerously good). Itβs the people. Everyone here is genuinely kind and appreciative, the kind of staff who make you feel like your stop actually matters to them. In a busy part of San Francisco, that warmth stands out. Thereβs something special about grabbing a fresh donut and taking a slow walk around the Civic Center, watching the morning unfold, the buildings light up, and the city wake around you. Highly recommend picking up a treat and enjoying a stroll through the plaza. Itβs a small moment of calm that sets the tone for the whole day. Gateway Croissant is simple, welcoming, and consistently excellent. A true neighborhood gem.

Great for late-night munchies, sandwiches, or coffee this place is open 24/7 and has a great variety of donuts at a reasonable price. The donuts here are always quality and fresh tasting with service that's always welcoming. If you're not familiar with this area it can get pretty sketchy from time to time especially late at night but overall a great place to get a quick bite to eat.
